About
This set works because it gives you a “complete” mech at a manageable size. LEGO packed in real poseability, head, arms, shoulder armor, fingers, legs, and ankles, so you can push dynamic stances without it feeling stiff.
The play value comes from the gear. The mech includes three weapons, and one of them is a spring-loaded shooter with two darts, which adds proper play without ruining the display look. There’s also a nice bonus for NINJAGO collectors, the weapons are designed to be swappable with the ones from set 71855 (sold separately), encouraging customization.
In the end, it’s the kind of set that works in two modes, fun in-hand for action, and strong on a shelf too, because the mech silhouette reads well and Cole’s color scheme is instantly recognizable.

Minifigure review
Cole is the obvious pilot for the mech, and the hammer helps sell his identity without overcomplicating things. Zane Dragon Form is the visual twist that keeps the set from being “just another ninja”, and the sword rounds out the hero side nicely. The Acid Monster plays the role of the instant enemy, and that matters in a set this size, it gives you immediate conflict, heroes vs villain, straight out of the box.
It’s a simple trio, but it’s functional, and it gives you everything you need for quick battles without needing extra sets.

So…

Cole’s Mission Mech is compact but has strong presence, lots of articulation, weapons that add real play value, and a minifigure lineup that makes sense for instant action. If you like NINJAGO mechs and want something easy to build, easy to pose, and made more interesting by the Dragon Form Zane twist, this is a very safe pick.
