About
This set stands out because it’s a different kind of “open-wheel” build for the line. It’s not a full-on Formula 1 car packed with complex aero bits, the bodywork is cleaner and simpler, but the shape is very accurate. The front end in particular, the nose and the transition into the slope, is surprisingly faithful to the real car, and that’s make-or-break on a single-seater.
In hand, it reads really well, a clear cockpit area, rear wing, solid proportions, and a color scheme that pops on display without looking too cartoonish.
The one thing to keep in mind is that because F1 Academy is single-make, the car has less “brand identity” and less aggressive aero than a modern F1 car. So the appeal here is more about having a clean race-grid piece, representation, and collection value, rather than a “dream supercar” vibe.

Minifigure review
The minifig is simple but well matched to the theme, a female driver with a helmet, plus a wig and a wrench. Those paddock-style accessories add life for photos and dioramas.

So…

F1 ACADEMY LEGO Race Car works for three reasons, it’s a well-shaped single-seater, it includes printed details where it matters (Pirelli tires), and the minifig fits the F1 ACADEMY concept perfectly. If you like racing grids, dioramas, or you want something different in your collection that also carries real cultural weight, more representation in motorsport, this one is easy to recommend at the price.
