About

This is one of those Speed Champions sets that immediately stands out because of its shape. The Ferrari 499P doesn’t have the traditional silhouette of a road car, or the simpler visual profile of a single-seater. It’s an endurance hypercar, with very specific proportions, a low front, central cockpit, long rear section, and plenty of aerodynamic elements. LEGO managed to capture that presence really well. The front looks aggressive, the cockpit area is nicely integrated, and the rear gives you that feeling of a car built for speed and efficiency. The model measures over 4 cm high, 15 cm long, and 7 cm wide, keeping it in line with the compact scale of modern Speed Champions sets.

The red, yellow, and black color combination works really well and makes the car instantly recognizable as a Ferrari. The racing look helps a lot too, especially because this type of car depends heavily on graphic details and livery. As usual with many Speed Champions sets, stickers play an important role in completing the identity of the model, but here they make sense, because the real 499P also relies a lot on its livery for that visual impact.

The build feels like one of those satisfying Speed Champions experiences: compact, full of small angles, and with interesting techniques to represent difficult shapes at this scale. It isn’t just “another red Ferrari”, it’s a different kind of Ferrari, more technical, more modern, and closely connected to the world of endurance racing.

If you already have other Ferrari Speed Champions sets, this one brings nice variety to the collection. And if you’re into WEC, Le Mans, or endurance cars, it is probably one of the most interesting releases in the line.

Minifigure review

The set includes 1 Ferrari driver minifigure, with a racing suit and helmet. It’s a simple inclusion, but an essential one in a Speed Champions set, because it allows you to place the driver inside the cockpit and turn the model into a small racing scene, rather than just a display car.

The minifigure does its job well. It’s not the kind of figure that sells the set on its own, but it fits the theme perfectly. The Ferrari racing suit gives the whole package more consistency and looks great next to the car, especially if you like displaying Speed Champions models with the driver standing outside the vehicle.

In this case, the real highlight is definitely the car. The minifigure is a nice complement, but the main value is in the 499P and the way LEGO tried to bring this endurance hypercar into such a small scale.

Ferrari 499P

LEGO Speed Champions 77261 Ferrari 499P is a 9+ set with 329 pieces, 1 minifigure, and an official RRP of €27.99. It represents the Ferrari 499P, the Le Mans Hypercar that marked Ferrari’s return to the top class of endurance racing in 2023, where it went on to achieve historic victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Within the Speed Champions line, this set is especially interesting because it brings a modern endurance race car into minifigure scale, with a silhouette very different from the usual supercars or Formula 1 cars. It’s low, wide, aerodynamic, and packed with details that try to capture that endurance prototype design language.

Ferrari 499P is a strong Speed Champions set for fans of Ferrari, Le Mans, and endurance racing. It has a unique silhouette, great presence, and an important real-world story behind it. It’s not just another red Ferrari, it represents Ferrari’s return to the top class of endurance racing, which gives it extra weight in the collection. The only real downside is the amount of stickers, but with race cars, that almost feels unavoidable. Still, a few more printed elements would have made it feel even more premium. For €27.99, it delivers a recognizable licensed car, a solid build, and a minifigure to complete the package.
