About

The build is small and straightforward, but it does its job well. You get a modular-style market area with stands, weapons, hats, and accessories, all designed to give the characters context. It’s not the kind of set you buy for build complexity, you buy it because it brings the world of Prime Empire to life. The concept works really well because it feels like a social hub inside a video game, the kind of place where characters go to swap gear, choose skins, and prepare for the next mission. And that fits the season perfectly, because Prime Empire is all about that arcade, avatar, and digital-world aesthetic.

As a display set, it works best when it’s packed with minifigures. On its own, the market is simple. With all 9 figures around it, it instantly gains personality. It almost works like a little capsule of the season.

Minifigure review

This is the real reason why this set is so desirable. 71708 Gamer’s Market comes with 9 minifigures, and several of them are exclusive or very important for collectors. The lineup includes Digi Jay, Avatar Nya, Avatar Cole, Okino, Scott, Avatar Pink Zane, Avatar Harumi, Red Visor, and Richie. The absolute highlight is Avatar Pink Zane, one of the most memorable figures from Prime Empire and probably the most sought-after minifigure in this set. Avatar Harumi is also a strong standout, with a very different look from her usual versions and an aesthetic that immediately pops in a collection. Then you have characters like Scott and Okino, who really help complete the narrative side of the season, along with the villains Red Visor and Richie, who create instant conflict. In the end, this set is basically a character pack disguised as a market, and that’s the biggest compliment I can give it.

Gamer Market

LEGO NINJAGO 71708 Gamer’s Market is a set from the Prime Empire wave, released in 2020, with 218 pieces and 9 minifigures. It’s one of those small sets that may look simple on paper, but in practice feels almost like a NINJAGO “people pack.” The original RRP was around €34.99 in Europe, and the set was designed by Michael Svane Knap.

The idea is to recreate the market inside the Prime Empire game, with stands for weapons, accessories, and hats for the avatars. This isn’t a set about a big build, it’s clearly about figures, customization, and that video game vibe.

Gamer’s Market is a small set, but it has huge value for NINJAGO fans. The build is simple, yes, but the minifigure lineup is insane for its size and original price. You get 9 figures in 218 pieces, with important characters, memorable avatars, and very desirable exclusives. If you like Prime Empire or collect NINJAGO minifigures, this is one of those sets that has aged really well. The build is just the setting. The minifigs are the real final boss.
