About
This set has incredible presence. The Hoonicorn is a car with a very strong visual identity, and LEGO managed to capture that energy really well in Speed Champions form. The black, grey, graphic details, and low stance instantly make it feel like a car built to burn tires, drift, and appear in a Hoonigan video.
What really sets this model apart is its aggressiveness. The front is wide, the rear has a lot of muscle, the fenders give it that extreme look, and the air intakes help sell the idea of a completely modified machine. This is not just a classic Mustang in LEGO form, it is the Hoonicorn, and you can feel it.
I also really like that LEGO brought a car with this much personality into the Speed Champions line. We already have plenty of race cars, supercars, and movie cars, but this one fits into a different category: car culture, drift, internet, Gymkhana, and Ken Block. For anyone who knows the story behind the car, that gives it a lot more weight.
As often happens with Speed Champions sets, stickers play an important role. In this case, they make sense, because the Hoonicorn’s graphics are a huge part of its identity. Without those details, the car would lose a lot of its visual impact. Still, this is definitely one of those models where you want to apply everything carefully, because any crooked sticker will stand out quite a lot.
As a build, it is a very satisfying Speed Champions model. It has its own silhouette, some nice solutions to represent difficult shapes at this scale, and the final result is strong, recognizable, and has a lot of display presence.

Minifigure review
The Ken Block minifigure is essential to this set. Without it, the car would still be excellent, but with the figure, the whole package gains another level of meaning. It is not just a modified Mustang, it is Ken Block’s car, and that makes all the difference. LEGO represents him with a cap and Hoonicorn jacket, and also includes an alternative helmet to put him in race mode. It is a simple but very effective choice, because you can display the figure next to the car or place him directly inside the cockpit.
For Speed Champions collectors, this minifigure is one of the biggest reasons to get the set. It is connected to a real figure from car culture, which makes the package feel more special than just “car + generic driver”.

So…

Ken Block’s 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V1 is, for me, the best Speed Champions set of 2026. It has an aggressive silhouette, a strong story behind it, a unique aesthetic, and the Ken Block minifigure completes the package perfectly. This is not the kind of car that disappears on a shelf. The Hoonicorn has presence, attitude, and that exaggerated energy that works really well in LEGO form. The stickers may be a downside if you do not enjoy applying them, but here they are almost unavoidable, because they are part of the car’s identity. For fans of Speed Champions, Ken Block, Hoonigan, or car culture in general, this is an easy set to justify. It is different, striking, full of personality, and within the 2026 wave, it is definitely the one that stands out the most for me.
