About
The magazine does exactly what it’s supposed to do: light, fast content with a good mix (comic + activities + world/lore/info pages + promos/offers). It’s not deep reading — and it doesn’t need to be. What matters here is the package: if you’re into NINJAGO, this is an issue you can read in one sitting, and it still leaves you with hands-on stuff (posters/activities) for anyone who buys it as a magazine, not only as a “minifigure delivery system.”
The key point, no sugarcoating: most of the value is in the toy. The magazine adds context and entertainment, but if you remove the minifig and extras, what’s left is what you’d expect from this format. For collectors, this is an impulse buy when the minifig is worth it; for kids (or anyone who just enjoys NINJAGO without overthinking it), it’s a solid combo of story + things to do.
Minifigure review
This Kai comes in a red suit with gold detailing, plus a gold hood/mask that instantly stands out. On display, it works really well — the kind of minifig that looks “premium” without needing a complicated pose. The trans-orange sword brings that fire/energy vibe that fits the character, and the small gold dragon accessory is a nice bonus because it doesn’t feel like random filler — it actually makes the pack feel more complete. The obvious (and fair) criticism is the usual one: there are a lot of Kai variants. If you already own several, this issue only makes sense if you’re missing this exact color scheme/parts, or if you really want the weapon + dragon combo. If you don’t have a more “powered-up” Kai in your display yet, this is a strong pick at a price that isn’t crazy for a minifig + accessories.
