About
The book keeps the signature DK formula: clean photography on white backgrounds, concise text, timelines, design trivia, and callouts on moulds, colours, and prints. The pacing works, alternating catalogue-style grids with themed spreads (Classic Space, Castle, Pirates, City, Star Wars, NINJAGO, Icons, CMF, etc.). The 2025 update adds and corrects recent entries, giving a cohesive snapshot of the last few years in one volume. It’s not a price guide or an exhaustive archive of every rare variant, it’s primarily visual and historical and it excels at that. As with any curated selection, some choices are left out, but the curation is solid and print quality remains top-tier.
Minifigure review
The exclusive Astronaut is exactly the right bonus for this subject: crisp printing, classic part choices, and instant “minifig celebration” vibes. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s elegant, collectible, and adds real value, great kept sealed for collectors or displayed alongside other space explorers.
