About
The model stands about 28 cm tall and uses a Technic core with a mechanism that is more intricate than it looks. There is a rubber latch that locks the system until you insert a coin, and a clicker that gives satisfying tactile feedback as you turn the handle. The capsules are two transparent hemispheres connected by an axle, easy to open without popping apart by themselves, and sized to fit a disassembled minifigure snugly. The red exterior is clean, with well resolved curves and large clear windows to showcase the capsules inside. On display it has real shelf presence and that tactile “one more go” factor. Common critiques note that the capsules could offer more connection points for MOCs and that the price is on the high side, however the function and figure selection make up for it.
Minifigure review
You get 16 minifigures, which is the headline feature. There are 4 Classic Space astronauts in teal and pearl gold chosen by fan vote, two new Castle factions called Griffin Knights and Kraken Warriors, a Pirates duo drawn from classic comics, a Paradisa pair with 1992 branding, two Fabuland tributes in bear and elephant suits, plus the project designer with a mini machine and a themed LEGO Ideas figure. Prints are crisp, accessories are on point, and the variety appeals to both nostalgists and builders looking for parts for modern scenes.
Box design
The box follows the 18+ look, dark background with a hero render of the machine and visible capsules. Approximate dimensions are 45.6 × 28.2 × 13.6 cm, compact for what is included and sufficient to protect the larger transparent panels and the mechanism. The back shows the coin to capsule action sequence and a lineup of the minifigures.
Instruction manual
Includes one printed manual and a LEGO Builder digital version, with short, clear steps that help you understand the gear path before you close the body. There is also a summary of how Fan Designer Rob Vangansewinkel arrived at the final model you see here.
Stickers
No stickers. The coins are printed, and the look relies on moulded parts and clear elements, which is rare and very welcome in a display and function focused set.
So…

This is an interactive display piece that nails the nostalgia factor, the mechanism is genuinely fun to use, and the lineup of 16 minifigures delivers collectability that is hard to beat. The price is steep, especially if you only want the mechanism, but for minifigure fans and lovers of LEGO history it is an easy yes, even better if you can grab it with a small discount.
