About
This set wins for one simple reason, it feels like a real toy. The main vehicle is chunky, has real visual weight, and delivers that classic NINJAGO “over-the-top” energy that looks great in hand and even better in photos. And the 3-in-1 idea isn’t just marketing, once you split it into three vehicles, the play pattern changes completely, with one box you can run chases, ground fights, and aerial attacks without needing anything else.

Minifigure review
The six minifigures are well chosen for instant action, Kai, Wyldfyre, and Cole on the hero side, with Nokt and a Spectral Dragonian Scout on the villain side, so you get a full heroes vs villains setup right away. But the real standout is Frak. He adds collector weight to the set because he’s not “just another ninja”, he’s a memorable character and, more importantly, he’s almost exclusive, appearing only in this set and one polybag. If you want Frak in your collection, this set becomes pretty much essential.

So…

71844 Ninja Combat Vehicle has huge play value, the 3-in-1 actually works, you get strong size, real variety (two bikes plus a jet), and enough minifigures for a complete battle, with the bonus of Frak being a major collector pull. Now for the downside, and there’s no point pretending, the price is too high. €90 for 561 pieces is rough, full stop. If you catch it on sale, the whole conversation changes and it becomes an easy recommendation. At full price, it only really makes sense if you’re a big fan, or if Frak is the missing piece you’re chasing. Note: This set is retiring in June 2026!
