About
This set is very simple, but it does exactly what it promises. The focus isn’t on a large build or an elaborate display model, it’s on the experience of launching Zane and creating small Spinjitzu challenges. It’s a very typical NINJAGO format, small, accessible, and ready for play right after building.
The launch base is the main feature. You place the Tornado Spinner with Zane inside, press the mechanism, and the figure shoots forward in tornado mode. It’s a very direct function, but a fun one, especially if you enjoy this more gimmick-based side of NINJAGO.
The training build is simple, but it gives the set some context. It isn’t just a minifigure with a spinner, there is a small target to knock down, which makes the experience feel a little more complete. Of course, in terms of building techniques, there isn’t anything too advanced or memorable here, but that isn’t really the point.
Visually, the spinner works well. The translucent tornado element gives it that Forbidden Spinjitzu energy effect and fits Zane really nicely. As a small action set, it’s fun, compact, and easy to add to a collection, especially if you like displaying minifigures with special elements.

Minifigure review
The main reason to get this set is definitely the Zane FS minifigure. This version comes with the Forbidden Spinjitzu look, including the powered-up hood, and it is one of those figures that immediately stands out because it has a different energy compared to regular ninja versions. The suit has a very strong design, with that more intense look from the Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu wave. For Zane, it works especially well because the character’s cooler tones fit perfectly with the tornado effect and the whole idea of elemental power.
For NINJAGO minifigure collectors, this type of set is always interesting. Even if the build is small, the figure is the real selling point. And here, Zane FS has plenty of presence, especially when displayed with the spinner.

So…

Spinjitzu Slam - Zane is not a set for anyone looking for a large or complex build. It’s a small action set, simple, direct, and designed around the spinner function. The value is mostly in the Zane FS minifigure and the tornado element, which together make a really nice little piece for fans of Zane and the Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu era. But I have to say, the play feature actually surprised me. It works really well, launches smoothly, and it’s genuinely fun to use. For such a small set, that makes a big difference. For anyone collecting Zane variants, this is one of those sets that makes sense to own, not just because of the figure, but also because the spinner adds a fun and surprisingly effective play feature.
