The Stealth Hunter is one of those sets that represents the spirit of Exo-Force really well. It is small, direct, full of attitude, and has that anime/mecha look that made this LEGO theme stand out so much.
Visually, the mech has a very strong silhouette. The long legs, armed arms, front cockpit, and combination of black, white, and red give it a fast, aggressive, and stealthy look, exactly what the name “Stealth Hunter” promises. It does not feel like a heavy and slow robot, it feels like a machine built to strike fast and disappear.
Even with only 164 pieces, the set manages to deliver a lot of personality. The build is simple, as expected from a set of this size from 2006, but it works really well. The cockpit with the canopy, the side weapons, and the mechanical details give it that classic Exo-Force charm, where everything feels slightly exaggerated, but in the best way possible. And of course, you cannot talk about this set without mentioning the light brick. It is a simple function, but it gives the model so much character. When you activate the light, the Stealth Hunter gains that extra futuristic effect, like a machine ready for combat. For such a small set, this detail makes a big difference and helps it feel even more special.
Articulation is another important point. It is obviously not as advanced as modern mechs, but for its time, it allowed quite a bit of freedom for action poses. The legs and arms make it possible to create dynamic positions, which helps a lot with display. This is not one of those sets that looks best standing still, it looks better in a combat pose.
Minifigure review
The included minifigure is Hikaru, one of the human pilots from Exo-Force. For me, the minifigures from this theme are a huge part of its identity, mainly because of the anime-style hair pieces, more exaggerated expressions, and tech-looking torsos. Hikaru fits really well with the Stealth Hunter. The figure’s look matches the energy of the mech and helps reinforce that feeling of a young pilot inside a futuristic combat machine. It is not a super complex minifigure by today’s standards, but it has a lot of character.
The hair is probably one of the most memorable details. Exo-Force had this manga/anime side very clearly built into its identity, and that made the figures instantly recognizable. Even without knowing the story behind the theme, you can look at the minifigure and immediately understand that it belongs to a different universe within LEGO.
As a small set with only one figure, including the right pilot is essential. And here, it works. Hikaru is not just an extra, he is the piece that gives context to the mech and turns the model into a proper piloted combat machine.

The aggressive silhouette, cockpit, weapons, poseability, Hikaru minifigure, and light brick make this set full of nostalgia. It does not have the detail or engineering of modern mechs, but it has something that many current sets sometimes struggle to have with the same strength: identity. You look at it and you immediately know it is Exo-Force. For fans of the theme, mech collectors, or anyone who grew up with this LEGO era, the Stealth Hunter is still a very special set. It is not big, it is not complex, but it is iconic, fun, and full of that anime energy that made Exo-Force so memorable.
