About

The build starts with a robust Technic hull, then closes in with interior modules, a sushi bar, a fold out table with a secret map, and the captain’s cabin. Outside, the sails move via a rack mechanism, roofs and floors lift off for access, and there is a stand for display when the ship is not “on mission.” In hand, the profile is striking and the temple ship read is clear, with a good balance of smooth surfaces and detail. The interactive map works with the translucent reveal blade, a neat thematic touch for storytelling. Trade offs, the deck has tight spots for handling minifigures and, being a large hull, the model needs some care when moved fully built. As a shelf piece it has presence, as a playset it offers plenty of interaction without losing rigidity.

Minifigure review

The lineup includes Zane, Cole, Wyldfyre, Nya, Rogue, and Zarkt, all with weapons and the reveal blade. It covers heroes and the wave’s villain, with wave specific variants, so you can tell the story without relying on other sets. Two minifigures are exclusive at launch, which adds collector appeal.

Box design

A large, “adult collector” style box, about 55.5 × 37.8 × 11.8 cm and roughly 3.2 kg, with the ship in action on the front and, on the back, functions, interiors, and the display stand. The volume protects panels and sails well, and the internal layout keeps the sticker sheet flat.

Instruction manual

You get one printed manual plus LEGO Builder support with 3D zoom and rotation, handy for previewing connections before closing hull modules. The step order is clear and the numbered bags split exterior and interior work sensibly, reducing back and forth during the build.

Stickers

Stickers cover emblems, decorative hull bands, and interior signage. Most applications are on tiles and flat slopes, so aligning with tweezers is straightforward. You can omit a few for a cleaner look, since much of the impact comes from moulded elements and shaping.

The Temple Bounty delivers strong display value and accessible play features, with the bonus of a display stand and interactive map and sails. If you want pure “mech engineering,” there are more technical options, but as a signature NINJAGO ship for shelves and photos, it’s an easy yes, even better with a small discount. My only gripe is that getting it onto the included stand can be a bit fiddly, but once it’s seated, it looks fantastic on any shelf.
